June to November 2025: This issue brings together ideas and disciplines in dialogue across biology, the social sciences, education, and gender studies. It opens with an essay that transfers the biological concept of “chimerism” to the social sphere in order to reflect on identity conflicts and contemporary nationalisms. This is followed by a qualitative study on secondary school teachers’ perceptions and ethical dilemmas regarding artificial intelligence, which explores the delicate balance between its potential and its risks in educational practice. Next, a systematic review addresses gender-based and intimate partner violence in Ecuador, highlighting the persistence of cultural factors and the limitations of public policies aimed at its eradication. Then, an article uses structural equation modeling to analyze the latent dimensions of academic performance, showing the weight of motivation, reading, and inclusion in learning. The issue also includes a hermeneutic analysis of pornography, gender-based violence, and forms of adolescent resistance in Cuenca, from a feminist–intersectional perspective. Finally, it incorporates a recent study on factors associated with the development of soft skills in university teachers in Loja, which proposes institutional and personal pathways to strengthen a more humanistic approach to teaching.
